Johnny did an amazing job with our wedding music. Everyone was up and dancing and having a good time. We had a mix of Spanish/Italian people at the wedding and he managed to get everyone up on the dance floor with a great mix of music. Music was very important to me and my husband so we had very high standards. Johnny met them all. The only reason I am not giving him all 5 stars is because at the very end of the night a song on my do not play list was played and someone was singing Karaoke which we had requested not be allowed. Other than those 3 minutes the night was flawless!

DJ Johnny Stuart was our wedding dj at Manhattan Penthouse in NYC and we were thoroughly impressed! My wife and I are very in tune with music, and had a set parameter of songs that we wanted to hear at our wedding. Johnny was able to incorporate most of our songs into the evening perfectly, and he was really able to understand what we were looking for and gave us exactly what we wanted. This is a far cry from what we've witnessed in other wedding dj's who tell you that you will hear your playlist but do their own thing. That was not the case with Johnny at all. The dance floor was packed until people literally couldn't dance anymore! From the moment we found him on NYMag and got in touch, he was very professional, accomodating, and was really on top of coordinating the musical portions of the event for us, without being too pushy or too overbearing at all. The price he provided us was excellent when compared to other ny wedding dj's, and we are 110% confident we made the right choice for what we believed to be the most important part of the reception. We took pride in trying to put together a good musical selection for our guests on our big day, and Johnny helped deliver that perfectly. We were very pleased with DJ Johnny's services for our wedding reception. We only gave him 3 days notice, but in the short span of time Johnny helped us choose the songs, plan the toasts, cake cutting, first dance...everything that would normally take weeks or even months. I have nothing but great things to say about DJ Johnny Stuart. My wife (then fiance) discovered him through the Knot, and from the onset, it really was a pleasure working with him. DJ Johnny was extremely open to our music choices and likes/dislikes. He was one of the few vendors that gave us absolutely no 'lip service'-- he backed up everything he said with actual action. Our wedding was not local to Manhattan, and that did not pose to be a problem for Johnny. He is charismatic, enthusiastic, and really cares about what he does and how he does it. We loved working with DJ Johnny Stuart!! From the beginning to end, he was extremely responsive, tailored our music itinerary to our reception, and played the best songs!! He was great emceeing our reception also, and did a great job with the introductions and getting people energized on the dance floor. I was a little worried that no one would want to dance because we had a daytime wedding, but thanks to Johnny and the awesome music he played, we had lots of people out there having fun. We really enjoyed working with Johnny and highly recommend him!!

While I was certainly one of those brides that spent much time at creating ambiance and a unique experience, excellent music for me (as self-proclaimed dancing queen) was at the top of my priority list. I am not a huge fan of bands, though I've heard great ones, so off the bat I knew I wanted a DJ. The largest challenge for me was meeting/dealing with vendors in NY, where we got married, when I live in CA. When I first started looking for DJ's, I was overwhelmed by the amount of options out there. Fortuately, Johnny came as a referal to me so I was slightly more at ease. I did call around and look at the websites of other DJ's. What I found was a bunch of people who do the standard wedding circuit with nothing special about them. After being less than impressed with my other options, and knowing I wanted someone who was going to bring more to the night other than spinning some songs, I decided to start working with Johnny. It was an incredible experience! From the day I met him, his energy and enthusiasm about what he does radiated. Music is his passion and creating the night of my life for me, soon became his priority as well. Johnny worked diligently in making sure what I wanted, and didn't, was incorporated into the wedding. He took note of special people, offered fun suggestions and most importantly made himself available for whatever I needed. The day of the wedding, Johnny was prompt, well dressed and did everything from set up sound and equipment for the ceremony, provided music for the cocktail hour, and didn't miss a beat during the reception. Some exceptional moments worth mentioning was his attention to details and the crowd when we did the world's longest horah, our first dance which consisted of a mix of songs and finally the henna ceremony (he worked well along side a drum player we hired)! He didn't break the dancing unless we wanted it and helped keep the unstopable energy going with the crowd. Without a doubt, if I ever needed a DJ for an event I would hire him again and would encourage anyone to work with him! Thank you Johnny for helping make it the best day ever!! jacqueline

Johnny Stuart was one of the best investments we made for our wedding. From the start he was extremely professional and was able to understand exactly what we wanted. He was available whenever I needed to run something by him or ask him a question. We told Johnny that we wanted our reception to be a "dance party" and he had people dancing from the moment it started until the lights were turned on. He was able to read the crowd and knew exactly what to play. People are still coming to me telling me that it was one of the best weddings they have been to because they had so much fun. I would recommend Johnny to EVERYONE. If we could have kept the reception going on longer we definitely would have! Johnny is amazing at what he does!!!

Every single person at our wedding would agree that DJ Johnny did an absolutely amazing job on our special day. My wife and I had a multi-ethnic wedding, and Johnny had French and Indian music at the ready, and entertained specific requests. He put together a fantastic mix that appealed to our very wide range of attendees (in terms of culture, age, etc.) Should also mention that we hardly gave him any direction and he managed to put together a wonderful night of music. I've never seen EVERY single person out on the dance floor until that night (and they were out there well into the night) Johnny was also extremely courteous and professional leading up to the event. Couldn't have asked for a better DJ! We are HUGE fans!

DJ Johnny Stuart, was an amazing help and great DJ for our wedding! My husband and I married over Labor Day weekend in September of 2010. We had 123 guests, many whom have never been to NY before, and many whom flew in from Germany and Switzerland. It was very important to us that our guests felt like they were attending a chic, cool NYC wedding. My husband and I are both in the fashion industry, so for us picking Johnny was an easy choice. We were both impressed by his outstanding resume and reviews. He has great experience DJing for magazine shoots, runway shows, and high profile celebrity events. This gave us a lot of confidence that he would know how to please a diverse crowd of all ages and backgrounds. My husband is very rock and roll, and I'm a mix of rock and country. Neither of us care for "club" type of music. So it was also important to us that our DJ love music of all kinds. Johnny, was exactly what we hoped for. He played a beautiful, fun, mix at our reception. We held our ceremony and cocktails on a yacht for 2 hours. For this, Johnny created a CD for us to play on the overhead. In the meantime, he was at our reception's location at the Water's Edge getting set up for the reception. My cousin was supposed to play the keyboard during our ceremony. But like in the movies, my cousin called me the morning of the wedding to tell me that his father had lost all of the music sheets. I called up Johnny right away to see if he had any suggestions. My cousin was going to play songs that were meaningful to my husband and I, and was not prepared to play anything traditional. Johnny was extremely helpful, in helping my cousin find a place to buy music and also put us through to a friend of his who may be able to help. He also was quick to tell my cousin of a website where he may be able to find the music. As with all weddings, not everything goes as planned. Another issue that arose at our wedding, was that our yacht which was supposed to transport all the guests back to the initial meeting point, ended up having mechanical problems, and the guests had to take a ferry back. They had to do this in 3 trips. So we asked if Johnny could play for an additional hour. His response was a cheerful, "I'm here, anything you need, no problem." Johnny's expertise, professionalism, energy, and positivity are a few of the many wonderful characteristics you will experience if you choose Johnny for your event. He will not let you down. He is always available to talk on his cell phone or via e-mail. Which is wonderful, because big events can be stressful, but he makes you more relaxed and happy. DJ Johnny is really a great guy whom you feel is more like a friend than just some vendor. For an important event in your life, he is definitely highly recommended!

It was such a pleasure dealing with Johnny Stuart over the past couple of weeks. His professionalism and timely responsiveness was top shelf! Johnny undoubtedly saved us a huge amount of time and additional stress with the music component for our wedding. We were in need of a customized CD compilation (about 6 hrs worth) for our cocktail reception and dinner reception, and Johnny provided us with a fantastic mix of music, all according to our specific preferences. We are extremely happy with his work and would HIGHLY recommend him for your wedding!

Johnny did a great job! Our wedding was in Montreal and we were able to have him travel from New York. Everyone had an amazing time and danced until the wee hours of the morning.

The three things people remember about a wedding are: 1) Was the music good and was every one dancing?, 2) Was the food good?, and 3) the location. I am glad to say that our guests were dancing throughout the night. DJ Johnny didn't take "breaks" like a lot of DJ's or bands so the party was continuous. He felt the crowd and knew when to change things up. I've been to a lot of weddings where no one is dancing and trust me--- you don't want that to happen at your wedding. So, pick DJ Johnny for a sure thing!

DJ Johnny Stuart is AMAZING!! He was very professional, responsive, organized, but A LOT fun at the same time. He has great ideas too. He gave us the idea to have live Flamenco guitarists at our cocktail hour. It was a hit! We got soo many compliments for it. It was amazing how he mixed two clutures together for us. He knew exacly when to play the Portuguese and Italian music. Soo much energy in the room. It was a blast!! We did not have to worry about anything. Which is HUGE for your wedding day!! Def. use Johnny for any event. He is a pleasure to work with, he listens to what you like and don't like, and then amzingly puts everything together for the night. He is Very talented and LOVES his job. His services are truly worth it. I wouldn't change anything! Thanks again Johnny. You made our wedding day everything we dreamed of!!!!!!!

I cannot say enough positive things about our fabulous DJ, Johnny Stuart. Because of his guidance during the wedding planning process and flawless execution on the big day, our wedding party was ROCKING and beyond anything I ever dreamed of. We had a complicated space (not your typical ballroom) to work with as well as a complicated schedule, which included a first dance (that I had to change dresses for), a musical performance by the Groom, and numerous speeches. On top of that, I also brought in a saxophone and bongo player to perform with the music Johnny was spinning and everything worked out perfectly. Johnny is a very professional DJ that is able to not only help you choose the music your crowd will love. Everyone loved not only the music but the DJ himself!!! Johnny's presence is positive and so energetic. If I ever have another party, I will 100% work with Johnny!!

Johnny was great! He was so easy to work with. He responded to my emails/requests so promptly. I always got the answers to my questions right away. Johnny was the DJ at my sister’s wedding and I liked him a lot so I decided to go with him at my wedding as well. All the songs he played at my wedding were awesome!
